If you are a big fan of beer, but don’t really know much about how it’s made or the difference between the types of beer there are, don’t worry. We can offer you a simple explanation so that during your next visit, you can walk in and order something you will surely like; and you might even be able to teach your friends a thing or two in the process!
First off, we have the Ales. The color of ales goes from a rich gold to reddish amber. They are generally robust and fuller-bodied, with hints of fruits or spices and they are distinctively acidic, with a bitter touch. Lagers are the typical German beer they are aged for a longer period of time; their color goes from pale all the way to black and they can also go from sweet to bitter. The Stouts and Porters are a lot alike. The Porters are dark and they are made with a combination of roasted malt that gives them a dry fruity flavor. The Stouts are creamy, not so sweet. They use barley to create them and this gives them a coffee-like hint. Finally, we have the Malts which are generally darker and sweeter with sweet notes of caramel or toffee. They go from light to fuller-bodied.
At West Ridge Beverage, you can try out a number of craft beers, beverages that have reduced annual productions, are independently owned (less than 25% can be owned by an alcohol beverage industry member) and are traditional, adding on innovative processes or ingredients that make them unique. We also offer our clients homemade sodas. Yes! We make them in-house and we want you to try them out!
Aside from the type of beer, these beverages can be divided into a number of styles, some of which you have probably heard of. One style is the Amber beer. They can either be a lager or ale. Another one is the Popular Blond. They have pale colors and are dry. There are over 10 different styles with very different characteristics sure to become your new favorite beer!
Whatever kind of beer you like, we will surely be able to offer it. And if you have always had the same kind of beer they sell at the corner store, you are in for a treat you will fall in love with. We know that if you come and try the variety of beers we offer, you will find the perfect one to suit each mood and each moment, no matter what.
